Our Leadership Team

As the former CEO of Recurrent Innovative Solutions, Keith Derrington led the company’s successful delivery of cash flow positive energy solutions financed through Commercial Property Assessed Clean Energy (C-PACE), Green Bank, utility incentive programs and other innovative funding mechanisms.  Keith will continue to serve the company in an advisory role, providing valuable insight and assistance with the Company’s varying initiatives and projects. 

Prior to his affiliation with Recurrent Innovative Solutions, Keith successfully led the sales, deal structuring, financing, development, construction and operational management for $2 billion in energy efficiency and renewable energy projects under the Department of Energy’s Energy Savings Performance Contracting (ESPC) Program, as well as for the commercial sector in the U.S. and Europe. He has developed large scale biomass, biogas, gasifier, landfill methane, solar, CHP, waste heat recovery, energy storage and microgrid projects with power purchase agreements (PPA) and ESPC deal structures

Keith is a licensed Professional Engineer and holds a Bachelor of Engineering from Vanderbilt University.


SHAWN FENSTERMACHER | Vice President, Business Development and Sales
Shawn Fenstermacher joined Recurrent Innovative Solutions in July of 2020 with more than 20 years of Energy Efficiency experience including Building Automation, Deep Energy Retrofits, Lighting & Controls, HVAC, and Solar.  Shawn started his Energy Efficiency career as a Building Automation service technician for Siemens in Baltimore. Since then, he has been an Account Engineer, Project Manager, Quality Manager/Director, Sales Manager, and General Manager.  As a member of the leadership team at Recurrent, Shawn takes on the broader challenges and focuses on business opportunities and growth.  A Navy Veteran, Shawn is a certified Project Manager (PMP), and Program Manager (MSP), and a certified Six Sigma / LEAN Black Belt.

Shawn received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Management from the University of Phoenix.

RYAN FAUQUIER | Director, Building Automation Services
Ryan began his career with the company in December 2012 as a Research Analysis and Applications Engineer. In 2015, Ryan was promoted to lead the Automation and Controls group as the Director of Building Automation Systems (BAS). In this role Ryan leads the day to day and future goals of these departments, including the design and implementation of new and retrofitted systems. He also oversees a remote operations center that provides clients with 24/7 remote support and monitoring of their facilities. Prior to joining Recurrent, Ryan work at Parabel, Incorporated (Formally PetroAlgae) developing commercial scale bioreactors and controls systems for next generation biofuels and protein/feed supplements. In addition to the systems development, Ryan was deployed to provide on-site construction and start-up supervision of all test sites located in South America and Asia.

Ryan currently hold a Niagara AX&N4 certification and holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the Florida Institute of Technology in Melbourne, Florida.


JOE PEREZ | Manager, Facilities Support Services
Joe comes to us from Walter Reed Medical Center, bringing along 30 years of Facilities Maintenance experience. Joe is a Licensed Master Electrician with an extensive background in Facilities Management.  He has worked in the residential, commercial, and industrial fields throughout his career, from homes and high rise buildings to manufacturing plants.  Joe and his team maintain and support a variety of buildings throughout DC, MD, and VA.


JOHN TINDALE | Manager, HVAC Services
As the Manager of HVAC Services, John oversees a team of HVAC technicians, pipefitters and welders in the installation, retrofit, service and maintenance of mechanical and HVAC systems. John has more than 25 years of experience in the building services and HVAC industries. In addition to his ASHRAE certification in Operations and Performance management, John is a licensed master HVAC mechanic in MD, DC and Virginia. In previous roles, John worked in all areas of HVAC and facilities maintenance, with responsibility for managing multi-trade service departments, training and hiring of on-site personnel and technical staff, and creating and implementing various preventive maintenance programs for clients throughout the DC Metropolitan area.
