Deep Energy Retrofits
Recurrent designs and installs solutions to improve the building owner’s financial position through stronger cash-flows, higher building value, and reduced operating expenses. Often, this is through a “Deep Energy Retrofit,” which consists of a comprehensive building improvement project addressing multiple inter-related building systems at once to achieve significant cost-savings and address backlogs of deferred maintenance. We identify the most cost-effective route to achieving that goal, starting with data-driven modeling and analysis to evaluate the building design and operation. Our project engineers design alternative approaches to achieving savings and improving asset value and cash-flows. Our construction team will deliver the project according to specifications, managing all aspects of the work to ensure timely and on-budget project delivery. Finally, we leverage existing incentives and financing programs to offset any upfront costs to the project and assist the owner throughout the entire process until all funding is secured.
Definition: “A deep energy retrofit is a whole-building analysis and construction process that achieves much larger energy cost savings—sometimes more than 50% reduction—than those of simpler energy retrofits and fundamentally enhances the building value.” (Rocky Mountain Institute).
Recurrent holds the necessary certifications and licenses to execute projects from concept to commissioning, including General Contractor License, Professional Engineering Firm License, Class A HVAC Contractor License, and is an approved Energy Services Provider for utility customers throughout Maryland, Virginia, and Washington D.C.
